Watch Pro-Shot Footage of Mickey Guyton Singing With Metallica at Global Citizen
"Nothing Else Matters" is the most-covered song on 2021's The Metallica Blacklist, the massive compilation featuring more than 50 covers of "Black Album" tracks. Everyone from Miley Cyrus to Chris Stapleton shared their takes on the classic tune, but nobody's had the chance to actually perform it with Metallica.
That is, until this year's Global Citizen Festival when James Hetfield invited Mickey Guyton to the stage to sing it with them. You can watch pro-shot footage of the performance, shared by Global Citizen, in the player below.

Guyton is a country music artist by trade, but she's never allowed herself or her music to be put into a box. Her dynamic approach to her craft has earned her much attention, including earning four Grammy nominations and getting the chance to perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVI on Feb. 13, 2022.
And then on Sept. 24, 2022, she added another accolade to her already-impressive career as she had the opportunity to join Metallica onstage in the middle of New York City's Central Park to sing "Nothing Else Matters."
Not surprisingly, she said it was "a dream come true."
Metallica were equally thrilled as Hetfield said, half-jokingly about Guyton joining him to share vocal duties, "Finally, a real singer."
Guyton's take on "Nothing Else Matters" is an unforgettable listening experience. As Taste of Country noted when it was first released, her cover "beautifully showcases the lower register of her voice and demonstrates her versatility as an artist."
The Metallica Blacklist features 53 different covers of every song from the "Black Album," with each artist or band sharing their royalties with a specific charity. Guyton's proceeds went to the United Negro College Fund, an organization that "empowers more than 60,000 students to get to and through college each year."
