Happy Halloween, Ultimate Metallica Family!

To celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year, the latest edition of The Ultimate Metallica Show brought out some of the creepiest, darkest songs in Metallica's catalog, like their unforgettable live performance of Diamond Head's "Am I Evil?" at the Tushino Airfield in Moscow or the Big Four's epic cover of Motorhead's "Overkill" at Yankee Stadium.

Of course, it wouldn't be an Ultimate Metallica Show without other people's covers of Metallica songs, too, so we cranked up Drowning Pool's cover of "Creeping Death" and Bullet For My Valentine's take on "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)."

But maybe the coolest cover we played—and maybe the coolest cover we've ever played—came courtesy of the legend himself, Mr. Lemmy Kilmister. As I said during the show, it doesn't matter if he's singing "Ace of Spades" or reading the phone book, it doesn't get much better than Lemmy's iconic voice, and that's certainly true when he's belting out Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters."

If you missed any part of the show, you can check out the full playlist below.

On the next Ultimate Metallica Show, we'll dedicate our time to the late, great Jon and Marsha Zazula as we celebrate Metallica's old-school catalog. If you have a memory or song you want to hear, make sure to hit me up in the Ultimate Metallica app.

'The Metallica Blacklist': 10 Best Metallica Cover Songs on 'Black Album' Tribute

While a compilation of 53 bands covering 12 tracks from one Metallica album is bound to include some misses, The Metallica Blacklist includes a considerable amount of hits. Listening to it over and over and over again, we've picked out the 10 best "Black Album" covers from The Metallica Blacklist; check them out in this gallery.

Some of Our Favorite Live Photos of Lars Ulrich

As iconic as James Hetfield is, as much of a shredder as Kirk Hammett is and as crazy as Robert Trujillo is onstage, there might be no member more associated with Metallica than Lars Ulrich.

Afterall, he's the reason the band even exists. He's a major part of the songwriting process. He's the voice that stood up for Metallica and musicians across the globe in the wake of Napster.

After hours and hours of rifling through photos of Ulrich, we whittled this list down to just a few of our favorite live shots from the last 20 years. Of course, there's no way to encapsulate Ulrich in a mere photograph, but as you will no doubt be able to tell, you can get pretty close.
