When it comes to documenting their history, Metallica are among the best in the business. The band continue to deliver "Met On Tour" recaps, and their latest gives fans a good luck at a day in the life of the band as they rocked the Lollapalooza tour last weekend.

Their latest recap begins with Robert Trujillo, Kirk Hammett and Lars Ulrich all meeting with fans prior to the show, conversing with them and learning a little bit about each one of them, while posing for photos and signing clothing.

You'll also get a look inside the "Jam Room," the area that Metallica rehearses in prior to each performance. And while Metallica have been around for ages and played thousands of shows, this glimpse shows that not everything is automatic. Watch as Hammett and his bandmates discuss and work through a transition between songs prior to the show to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch.

Then it's time to head out to the stage, and this recap gives you look at Metallica playing "Wherever I May Roam" and their cover of "Am I Evil?" that delighted the Chicago audience this past weekend. It's truly a rocking experience as you see the show from the crowd view as well as a close up on the performance from the side of the stage. Fans can also check out additional performance footage of the songs "King Nothing," "Wherever I May Roam" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" at Rolling Stone.

Meanwhile, Metallica's Robert Trujillo also took part in interviews while at Lollapalooza. The proud papa spoke with 107.7 The Bone's Chasta about his son's band playing at Lollapalooza as well. He also discussed the band's pre-show ritual, the origins of his samurai crab walk, his fondness for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath and the camaraderie of playing festivals. Check it out below.
