Directed by Jonas Akerlund in Los Angeles, the music video for 'Turn the Page,' Metallica's first single from 'Garage Inc.,' made it's worldwide premiere on Oct. 28, 1998. Prior to filming 'Turn the Page,' Akerlund worked with the likes of Madonna, Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones, in addition to several other internationally recognized recording artists.

Following the lyrics and theme of the song (originally released by Bob Seger in 1973), 'Turn the Page' follows the life of a stripper and prostitute, portrayed by Lynn Allen, a real-life porn actress. The pornography trade publication, 'Adult Video News,' ranked Lynn at No. 7 in their rundown of the top 50 porn stars of all time.

Metallica's 'Turn the Page' reached the top position of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 1998, and remained in the No. 1 spot for 11 straight weeks, making it the longest a Metallica tune consecutively sat on top of the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
