Metallica's ninth music video of their career is also one of their lesser-known videos.

Metallica got together with Dutch filmmaker Anton Corbijn to direct the music video for their second single from 1996's 'Load.' 'Hero of the Day' is a fascinating video as it follows a supposed drug-addicted teen for a day. The teen has his television set on all day, and switches between several different programs, all featuring members of Metallica.

When a band has a successful album, the usual plan is to release another one with a reasonably similar sound a couple years later to capitalize on the previous record’s success and keep the momentum going. Metallica has never done it that way. They work on their own timetable, and generally piss off a portion of their fan base with every new release, but garner legions of new fans in the process.

'Until It Sleeps' is the first music video from Metallica's 1996 album, 'Load.' Directed by Samuel Bayer, who before Metallica worked with Corrosion of Conformity, the Offspring and the Smashing Pumpkins, the video made its worldwide debut on May 23, 1996.
