All summer long Metallica fans have been given a sneak peek of their European 'By Request' shows. The band has been posting songs and behind-the-scenes footage of the shows, and that continued with their latest gig, the Heavy Montreal Festival on Aug. 9 (watch above).

The video of what looks to be the swan song of their 2014 concert calendar includes them warming up in the tuning room with 'Blackened' along with their band huddle as they prepare to hit the stage. 'Battery' and 'The Four Horsemen' from the show are also included.

'Battery' is from their legendary 'Master of Puppets' album, and it was recently revealed a book about that era is in the works. Matt Taylor, who wrote the book 'Jaws: Memories From Martha's Vineyard,' approached the group about telling the story of 'Master of Puppets' and the tour following its release.

Unlike most previous books about Metallica, the band is participating in this one. It will feature interviews with band members, managers, record company staff, the late Cliff Burton's father Ray and others. It will also rely heavily on fan photos and stories. For submission details, go here. The book is expected to be published in the fall of 2015.
