The third single from Metallica's seventh studio album, 'ReLoad,' is also the third music video released from the album. Wayne Isham, the man behind the video for 'Enter Sandman,' again teamed up with the band to direct the video for 'Fuel.' Filmed in Tokyo, Japan, 'Fuel' premiered to fans on May 14, 1998.

Following the theme and lyrics of the song, the video features more than four-and-a-half minutes of Metallica, fast cars and crashes. Isham was able to capture the energy of the song and put it on screen.

In 1999, 'Fuel' was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. On the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, the song peaked at No. 6 and has remained a strong tune for Metallica's radio success, as well as a fan favorite at live shows.
