Cliff Burton was a musician who will always be remembered by metal fans. Burton was killed in a tragic bus accident more than 25 years ago and his name has remained strong within metal circles ever since. Today (Feb. 10), on what would have been Cliff Burton's 50th birthday, we have already celebrated the late Metallica bassist with a list of his Top 10 Songs with Metallica, but now we pay tribute again with a special poll - Favorite Cliff Burton-era Metallica Album.
First on the list we have 'Kill 'Em All,' Metallica seminal debut album, which has sold over 3 million copies in the U.S. alone. 'Kill 'Em All' began Metallica's thrashing dominance in 1983, with the tracks 'Whiplash' and 'Seek and Destroy' held within the album.
Next up is the classic 'Ride the Lightning,' which is certified as quintuple-platinum in the U.S. and contains the monster tracks 'Fade to Black,' 'Creeping Death' and 'For Whom the Bell Tolls.'
Finally, embraced by many fans as Metallica's best album, we have 'Master of Puppets.' Having been featured on too many "best of" lists to count, Burton's final album with the band showed him at the peak of his talents. 'Master of Puppets' has sold six-million albums in the U.S. and features masterworks such as 'Battery,' Welcome Home (Sanitarium)' and the title track 'Master of Puppets.'
